Effective January 1, 2003, VA TECH CNI, jointly owned by PSI and VA TECH SAT, has started business in the USA, aimed at opening up the American energy control systems market, considered to be one of the world’s most attractive marketplaces. VA TECH CNI will focus on the sale of high-end control systems developed by PSI as well as VA TECH SAT’s innovative range of products. Moreover, technical project management resources will also be set up.
The establishment of this branch office primarily aims at swiftly creating references as a basis for a further expansion of North American business activities. The US energy market is expected to offer vast opportunities to suppliers of high-end control systems over the next few years. Even today there is a significant need for replacement of existing systems, as many of these no longer meet modern technical standards.
Integrating VA TECH CNI into the American network of the VA TECH group is designed to enable VA TECH CNI to fully utilize existing contacts and sales channels. Consequently, PSI regards setting up the VA TECH CNI business location in the USA as a further major milestone in internationalising its energy control systems activities, while VA TECH sees this joint venture as an important addition to an already comprehensive portfolio of products and services in the US high-tech sector.
