Siemens and PSI agree upon partnership in mobile communications Siemens mobile OSS Partner Program integrates tailored PSI solution

Berlin, 20 May 2003 – Siemens Information and Communication Mobile (Siemens mobile) and the Berlin based PSI AG will cooperate in the context of the Siemens mobile OSS (Operations Support System) Partner Program. The Mobile OSS Partner Program, which was announced by Siemens mobile on the occasion of the TeleManagement World in Nice, delivers coordinated, customized OSS solutions for 2G, 2.5G and 3G infrastructures to wireless service providers. Operators will benefit from easy access to a wide range of flexible operating and service solutions from leading best of breed vendors with the confidence that the solutions are pre-integrated and fully supported by Siemens mobile.

Service management and reliability are becoming key issues for operators as the size and complexity of the network increases, especially within a 3G infrastructure. The Siemens mobile OSS Partner Program will offer the full range of OSS competencies, fully integrated to support wireless infrastructure including multi-vendor network environments. The pre-integrated solutions jointly developed by Siemens mobile, PSI and the further mobile OSS Partners Hewlett Packard, Micromuse, Steria, Tertio and TTI will provide value both to existing wireless operators that want to leverage their investment and new operators seeking a complete solution. Siemens mobile will act either as a prime contractor to the operator or as an agent to its partners when a specific OSS vendor recommendation is requested.

PSI AG develops individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of large networks (electricity, gas, oil, telecommunications, transport), cross-company production management (steel, chemicals, machinery, automotive, logistics) and information management for government and service providers. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs 1,250 persons in the group.
