PSI Wins First Control System Order in Public Sector New orders in Information Management segment 30% above previous year

Berlin, 2 April 2004 – PSI increased their new orders in the Information Management business by over 30% to 6 million euros. This equals 40% of sales for the entire previous year (15 million euros) for the Information Management segment. Amongst other things, PSI has been charged with implementing a new control center in the field of environmental and disaster protection for the Saxony State Office for Environment and Geology. With this strategically important project PSI has, for the first time, succeeded in transferring technology for control systems in the energy business to the public sector.

The order from the State of Saxony substantiates the new PSI strategy, initiated in early 2003, of transferring the control systems employed by utilities for 30 years to the industrial and public sectors. Simultaneously this represents the entry into the important growth market for security control systems. Along with that, PSI’ Information Management business will begin with the marketing of control systems for IT service providers this year.

PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of large networks (electricity, gas, oil, telecommunications, transport), cross-company production management (steel, chemicals, machinery, automotive, logistics) and information management for government and service providers. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,200 persons in the group.
