PSI Presents New Product Developments at the 2007 Hanover Trade Fair

Sample projects and partner solutions for energy and production management

Berlin, 13 March 2007 – At the Energy Trade Fair from 16 to 20 April 2007 in Hanover, PSI will be presenting new product developments and sample projects based on the products PSIcontrol (network control technology), PSIcontrol V7 (Oil and Gas) and PSIcommand (operations management). At the Digital Factory Trade Fair, PSI will, for the first time, present a new approach to the subject of Fast-Ramp-Up in connection with the real-time production control system PSImcontrol. In addition, along with the Manufacturing Execution System PSImes supplemented by partner solutions, specific functions in the ERP system PSIpenta will be shown for the fields of mechanical engineering, plant construction and automotive.

At the Energy Fair (Hall 13, Stand B28), PSI will be presenting applications for energy suppliers for emergency management with intelligent information processing and communication by means of the control system. Along with that, the functions integrated in the network control system for the multi-facetted support of fault handling and preparation of fault reports for VDN fault statistics systems with extensive functions of cross-networks will be demonstrated. In addition, PSI will present its' control system for Oil and Gas that features completely integrated gas network simulation as well as other higher applications. Furthermore, a load management system will be presented that allows for the optimisation of gas supply contracts for large scale suppliers.

At the Digital Factory (Hall 17, Stand B50), PSI Manufacturing is presenting, together with the partner company ThyssenKrupp Drauz Nothelfer, a new process for significantly reducing ramp-up time that has proven to minimize the risk of start-up operations. Employing the simulation process developed by ThyssenKrupp Drauz Nothelfer and the real-time production control system PSImcontrol, the rapid start-up of real IT systems and the associated operative processes in the phase of the digital factory will be shown. A project from the field of auto body production will serve as the basis for the presentation that will provide a live demonstration of the systems involved.

The PSI subsidiary GSI mbH, with its strategic partners Atoss Software AG and IBS AG, will also be presenting the expanded Manufacturing Execution System PSImes at the Digital Factory. Furthermore, PSIPENTA Software Systems GmbH will demonstrate solutions which contain both the functional expansion of PLuS (productivity, liquidity and stability) in the ERP system PSIpenta for mechanical engineering and plant construction as well as new functions for coupled production and batch tracking for companies from the automotive and automotive supply industries.

PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for energy management (electricity, gas, oil, water), cross-company production management (steel, machinery, automotive, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs more than 1,000 persons in the group.
