PSI obtains key contracts in energy sector

New systems, upgrades, combined energy networks and extensive IT security technology

Berlin, 26 June 2017 – PSI Software AG has awarded key contracts in the energy sector for new and/or extended network control systems and system upgrades. The first major upgrade contract was awarded by MVV Netze GmbH in Mannheim. This was supplemented by contracts from various renowned transmission system operators with power frequency regulators and Workforce Management functions, as well as enercity Hannover with an upgrade to include functions for controlling pipe networks.

MVV Netze and enercity Hannover have been operating PSI network control systems for many years. The combined energy control system at the Mannheim network operator is to receive an extensive upgrade in the electricity, gas, water and district heat divisions. The combined energy control system at enercity Hannover will also be extended to include functions for controlling pipe networks.

The power frequency regulator at a transmission system operator's is to be upgraded to the new system version. For the first time, the Workforce Management System based on PSIcommand will also be used at a transmission system operator.

In each of the new projects, the latest PSIcontrol version will be applied with its respective IT security technology based on the BDEW/ÖE regulations, which was a decisive factor in many cases for awarding the upgrade contracts. In addition to the technical system measures, PSI has also implemented an in-company Information Security Management System (ISMS) and had it certified by TÜV Süd.

By late 2016, PSI had already received system upgrade contracts from the Austrian Energienetze Steiermark GmbH in Graz, Energienetze Mittelrhein GmbH Co. KG in Koblenz, and another major distribution system operator. All in all, this enables PSI to further secure and expand its good market position.

On the basis of its own software products, PSI Software AG develops and integrates complete solutions for energy management (energy networks, energy trading), production management (mining, metals, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs more than 1,600 persons worldwide.
