PSI Confirms Prognosis for 2003 and Details Targets for 2004

Berlin, 26 November 2003 – Based on the assumption of a general economic situation in 2004 that is similar to that of 2002 and 2003, PSI is planning sales of 135 million euro and the same volume of new orders. This cautious planning foresees an increase of the own added value by 5% and a further reduction of the transitory hardware sales. On that basis PSI is forecasting an operating result of 6 million euro for 2004; 3 million euro of this will be used in risk provisions. PSI, as a group-independent product manufacturer, will profit more than most from a market recovery predicted by industry associations.

For the current year, PSI is predicting new orders of 128 million euro, sales of 133 million euro and for the first time since the IPO five years ago a positive EBIT between 0 and 2 million euro. In the year 2003 additional restructuring costs of 1.5 million euro and development and marketing launch costs of the new industrial control systems are included in the results. With that PSI has achieved the turnaround they predicted despite the difficult general economic situation.

PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of large networks (electricity, gas, oil, telecommunications, transport), cross-company production management (steel, chemicals, machinery, automotive, logistics) and information management for government and service providers. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs 1,200 persons in the group.
