40 years of process control and information systems for utilities and industry
Berlin, 12 May 2009 – The Berlin PSI AG is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The software company was founded as PSI Gesellschaft für Prozesssteuerungs- und Informationssysteme mbH on 12 May 1969 as a spin-off of the AEG Software Institute in Berlin and began with a first contract for the steel industry. Today, PSI is the leading German supplier for control system software solutions for utilities and industry.
"In the 40 years of its existence PSI has always been proud of its independence and top technological performance. Our customers are particularly pleased with the competence, creativity and flexibility as well as the independence that distinguishes PSI from many of its competitors," explain the two PSI board members Armin Stein and Dr. Harald Schrimpf.
The PSI Group employs more than 1,100 persons in eleven German and nine international sites in Europe, Asia and North America. In financial year 2008 the group had sales of 128.9 million Euros. Since its initial public offering on 31 August 1998, the PSI AG has been listed in the Prime Standard of the German stock exchange.
PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, water, heat), cross-company production management (metals, mechanical engineering, automotive, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs more than 1,100 persons in the group.
