PSI awarded major order by RWE Westfalen-Weser-Ems

New central control systems for gas and electricity divisions

Berlin, 26 November 2007 - PSI announced today that the Group has received a major order from RWE Westfalen-Weser-Ems Netzservice GmbH to modernise the company’s gas and electricity operations control centres. As part of the modernization the functions of five old control centres will be combined in three new systems which will all be based on a single system platform.
RWE Westfalen-Weser-Ems AG, headquartered in Dortmund, is a regional subsidiary of RWE Energy. RWE Westfalen-Weser-Ems supplies its customers with electricity, gas, water and all associated services and provides security of supply for the region’s 5.5 million inhabitants. The company operates an electricity network with a total length of 76,000 km and a 20,000 km gas network, supplying more than 21,000 TWh of electricity and around 60 TWh of gas.
The order from RWE Westfalen-Weser-Ems sees PSI further reinforcing the Group’s position as the market leader for control systems and solutions for the segments electricity and gas in the liberalised energy market.

PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, water, heat), cross-company production management (steel, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs more than 1,000 persons in the group.
