PSI Awarded Major Contract in Energy Sector from Thailand

Seven control systems for the Provincial Electricity Authority

Berlin, 9 June 2008 – PSI, as a part of an international consortium, has been awarded with supplying a total of seven control systems for electrical distribution management in seven Thai provinces by the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). PSI will cooperate with the Malaysian partner inControl Tech, which has already successfully implemented a number of PSI control systems in Malaysia. The total term of the project will be more than three years.

The PEA is a state-owned company which is headed by the Thai Ministry of the Interior. It is responsible for the energy supply for large parts of Thailand. PEA covers an area of about 510,000 square kilometers with its electrical grid. PEA’s activities are based on a national plan for economic and social development and should guarantee an efficient and reliable energy supply.

With PEA, PSI has attained an important new customer in the growth region of Southeast Asia. At the same time, the contract underlines PSI’s technological leading position in the worldwide market for high-end energy control systems.

PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, water, heat), cross-company production management (steel, mechanical engineering, automotive, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs more than 1,000 persons in the group.
